Blueberry Harvesting Info

The Blueberry Place is a small 10 acre farm with two acres dedicated to three different varieties of blueberries (about 1200 plants): Tifblue, Climax and Bluebell.

The first variety begins to ripen in mid May, and can usually be picked from then until mid July.  This variety produces large, sweet berries.

The other two varieties begin to ripen in mid June, and can usually be picked from June until the end of July.  These varieties also produce sweet berries, however, the berries don't seem to be quite as large as the first variety.

If you catch the season just right with the later varieties, most of the berries on the bush are ripe at the same time, and you can pick many pounds of berries in just a few minutes.

Since no pesticides of any kind are used, the berries can be eaten right off the bush (and you can eat all you want while you pick).  The berries can almost be classified as organic.  The only commercial product that is used on the berries is a fertilizer that is mixed with water and distributed through the irrigation system.

We supply everything you need to pick pounds of blueberries.  Come on over and enjoy some of our favorite blueberries ever!

You Pick 'Em for $1.50/ pound
